Incontinence Treatment
An
introduction by Lut
Pardo, RN, BSN |
Incontinence treatment is one of these things that escape the established
standards of medical care. The reason? In cases of stress
incontinence types I and II and light urge incontinence, over 90% of treatment is
done by the patient. The more involved stadia of this dysfunction
call for pharmacological and surgical intervention.
Pelvitrax Treatment Program, developed by Dr.
Kulisz, is focusing on the treatment of lighter cases of incontinence.* In
our practice we focus on rebuilding, or rather restoring the missing bodily
functions in the most natural way there is: by exercising them. Our strength
is in assisting our patients in the appropriate exercises and techniques.
We, in a way, teach to catch the fish rather than to give a fish. Our
patients are happy to see us spend time with them to discuss their treatment
options. We listen. We have made the commitment that we will always have
time for our patients. It is probably why our patients have such good
results.
We customize treatment for every patient. We treat
the whole incontinence: depression, infections, obesity and incontinence itself. We
stick to the basic rule that our patients want to be dry again. And they
do. They are empowered by regaining control over their lives. We
just thank them for extending to us the privilege to facilitate their recovery.
As strange as it may sound -- we hope, after the treatment is completed,
our patients will never have to see us again. (What a way to make
friends!)
PELVITRAX (TM)
in its outpatient form takes about 6 to 10 weeks. Although individual results
may vary, most
of the patients see a noticeable improvement in just 2 -3 weeks. In
addition to our outpatient program, we are planning a two-week residential
treatment program combined with a luxurious vacation. For more information
on this program click here.
We offer support
groups, individual and group counseling, weight control program, gym and the
whole range of classical physical therapy.
To re-state here: the PELVITRAX (TM)
program addresses the four basic components of incontinence:
depression, urinary infections, obesity and bladder control. The PELVITRAX
(TM) incontinence treatment program is directed by
its original developer and author of the book Drips, Leaks, and
Low Spirits - A Woman's Guide to
Bladder Control, Infections and Depression --
Dr. Andre Alexander Kulisz, Ph.D. Dr.
Kulisz is the Consulting Specialist - Incontinence, and the director of this program. He is a medical
scientist (not an MD) and his doctorate is in application of science in
medicine. He has developed a number of medical devices and is an author
of a number of US and foreign medical patents
and writings published in the
Journal of American Urological Association and foreign journals. His
most recent intraurethral incontinence device has been approved for use in the
countries of European Community. His treatment methods have been
successfully tested at such prominent institutions as Bristol Urological
Institute (U.K.), Baylor College of Medicine (US), University of Umea, Sweden,
and a number of other foreign organizations from England to
Singapore. His most recent assignment was Chief Researcher and
Executive Vice President of HK Medical Technologies
- a company involved in the development and manufacturing of incontinence
treatment aids.
If you want to set up an appointment (office
or telephone) with Dr. Kulisz, call us at 210-402-3939. We will not charge you
